Greene County (Friday, August 27, 2021) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation's Green County maintenance facility will be replacing four culverts on state Route 72 between Cedarville and Clifton, with the first project starting at the end of the month.
THIS CULVERT REPLACEMENT IS CANCELED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED - On Monday, August 30, crews will start work to replace a deteriorated pipe on S.R. 72 at the junction with S. River Road, just south of Clifton. S.R. 72 will remain open, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers. However, S. River Road will be closed through Friday, September 3, and motorists will be detoured via Rife Road, Cortsville Road, Fishworm Road and U.S. 42.
On Monday, September 13, crews will start work on a culvert replacement at the S.R. 72 junction with Fishworm Road, through Friday, September 17. S.R. 72 will remain open; however, Fishworm Road will be closed at its junction with S.R. 72, and motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 42 and S.R. 72.
The final project will be the replacement of two culverts between Varsity Drive at Cedarville and Fishworm Road, and S.R. 72 will be subject to a five-day closure the week of September 27 and again the week of October 4. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 42, U.S. 68 in Xenia and S.R. 343.
