MADISON COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF AUGUST 22, 2021

DELAWARE, Ohio (Thursday, August 19, 2021) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Madison County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 56

NEW IMPACTS

SR 56 between Moorman Rd. and Robinson Rd. will close starting Monday, August 23 through Friday, September 3 for culvert replacement. Detour: SR 56 to SR 38 to I-71 to SR 56 or reverse.

State Route 29

CONTINUING IMPACTS

State Route 29 Bridge Replacement - SR 29 over Dun Ditch, between SR 38 and Lafayette-Plain City Rd., will close starting Monday, June 14 through October 2021 for bridge replacement.

Eastbound detour: SR 38 southbound to U.S. 40 eastbound to SR 29
Westbound detour: U.S. 42 southbound to U.S. 40 westbound to SR 38 northbound to SR 29.

NEW IMPACTS

The I-70 westbound ramp to SR 29 will close starting Monday, August 23 for 30 days for reconstruction.

Detour: I-70 westbound to U.S. 42 northbound to SR 29.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

State Route 29 Bridge Deck Replacement - The SR 29 bridge over I-70 will close in both directions starting Wednesday, March 31 through August 2021 for bridge deck replacement.

SR 29 westbound detour: U.S. 40 westbound to U.S. 42 northbound to SR 29 westbound.
SR 29 eastbound detour: U.S. 42 southbound to I-70 eastbound to SR 29 eastbound.

I-70 eastbound traffic travelling to SR 29 westbound should use U.S. 42 northbound to SR 29 westbound.

I-70 westbound traffic travelling to SR 29 eastbound should use U.S. 42 southbound to U.S. 40 eastbound to SR 29 eastbound.

U.S. Route 62

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. Route 62 Bridge Replacement - The U.S. 62 bridge over Deer Creek will close in both directions starting Monday, March 15 through September 2021 for bridge replacement. Detour: U.S. 62 to I-71 to SR 56 to U.S. 62 or reverse.

State Route 142

CONTINUING IMPACTS

State Route 142 Bridge Deck Replacements - The SR 142 southbound bridge over I-70 will close starting Friday, December 11 for bridge deck replacement. Southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound bridge over I-70 and one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions. This traffic pattern will be in effect until Summer 2021.
