SUMMIT COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JULY 12

AKRON, Ohio (Thursday, July 8, 2021) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Summit County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 8 project

State Route 8 reconstruction in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Hudson & Boston Heights – complete pavement replacement on State Route 8 between Graham Rd. and State Route 303. Estimated completion, July 2022.
The following ramp closures are currently in place:

• The ramp from State Route 8 southbound to Seasons Rd. is CLOSED through mid-July. The detour is State Route 8 to Steels Corners Rd. to Hudson Dr. to Seasons Rd.
• The ramp from Seasons Rd. to State Route 8 southbound is CLOSED through mid-July. The detour is Seasons Rd. to Hudson Rd.
• Hudson Dr. under State Route 8 is CLOSED through mid-July for bridge construction. The detour is Graham Rd. to Wyoga Lake to Steels Corners to Hudson Dr.
• The ramp from State Route 8 southbound to Graham Rd. is NOW OPEN.

State Route 91, U.S. 224 & Canton Rd. widening and safety improvements, Lakemore & Springfield Township
NEW IMPACT - Beginning on Thursday, July 15, the following truck closures will occur through mid-August:

• No left turns will be permitted for trucks from U.S. 224 westbound to Canton Rd. southbound. The detour will be Canton Rd. northbound to Linwood Rd. turnaround to Canton Rd. south.
• No left turns will be permitted for trucks from U.S. 224 eastbound to State Route 91 northbound. The detour will be Canton Rd. southbound to the Springfield Lake Dr. turnaround to Canton Rd. northbound.
• The northbound Canton Rd. right turn lane to U.S. 224 east is closed through Thursday, July 15. The detour is Canton Rd. to the Linwood Rd. turnaround to Canton Rd. southbound to U.S. 224.
• The U.S. 224 westbound left turn lane to Canton Rd. south is closed through Thursday, July 15. The detour is Canton Rd. northbound to Linwood Rd. turnaround to Canton Rd. south.

State Route 619 roundabout, Green
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Monday, July 12, State Route 619 just west of State Route 241 will be closed through mid-August while the City of Green constructs a roundabout at the State Route 619 and State Route 241 intersection. The detour will be Arlington Rd. to Greensburg Rd to Cleveland Ave.
CONTINUING IMPACT - State Route 619 just east of State Route 241 is CLOSED through Monday, July 12, while the City of Green constructs a roundabout at the State Route 619 & State Route 241 intersection. The detour is Arlington Rd. to Greensburg Rd. to Cleveland Ave. to State Route 619. Estimated completion, late fall 2021.
