MAHONING COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JUNE 14

AKRON, Ohio (Thursday, June 10, 2021) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Mahoning County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 224_large

     U.S. 224 project

U.S. 224 resurfacing, Boardman Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Monday evening, June 21, U.S. 224 between the Shops of Boardman and I-680 will have nightly lane restrictions. These restrictions will occur nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Estimated completion, late July 2021.


State Route 164 bridge replacements, Beaver Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Monday, June 14, State Route 164 just south of Garfield Rd. will be closed through late June. The detour will be State Route 165 to State Route 46. Estimated completion, late July 2021.


Various routes, crack sealing, Mahoning County
NEW IMPACTS – Beginning on Monday, June 14, the following routes will have various lane restrictions:

  • State Route 46 between the Columbiana County line to the southern Canfield Corporation limit.
  • State Route 46 between Kirk Rd. and I-80.
  • State Route 165 just north of the Columbiana County line
  • State Route 534 from Western Reserve Rd. to the Trumbull County line.

Estimated completion, late June 2021.
