ODOT Seeking Public Comments

SIDNEY, Ohio (Monday, May 24, 2021) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:  

Champaign County Bridge Maintenance, PID 103819 Updated – ODOT proposes to undertake repairs/improvements on three structures in Champaign County: SR 29 over Buck Creek in Union Township, SR 54 over Dugan Ditch in Union/Urbana Township, and SR 187 over Spring Fork in Goshen Township. The project is necessary maintenance. The project is expected to occur in Spring/Summer 2022. The project will require road closures at all three locations during construction, to protect workers and the public. The detours are expected to last one month each, and signed detours will be provided.

I-75 Reconstruction in Dayton, PID 107376 - ODOT proposes to reconstruct Interstate 75, from SLM 14.66 to SLM 17.16. Within the corridor, storm sewer facilities, lighting, signage, cable barrier, and related appurtenances will be replaced/upgraded as needed. Minor bridge repairs, without instream work, will be undertaken. The project is necessary to preserve and maintain this component of the transportation system. The project is expected to begin Fall 2022 and requires up to two years to complete. Ramp detours of two to three months each may be necessary; signed detours will be provided.

SR 741 at Dorothy Lane Signal Upgrade, PID 113266 - The City of Moraine proposes to reconstruct the traffic signal at SR 741 and W Dorothy lane. The project is intended to address the high crash rate at this intersection. Construction is expected to begin in January 2023.  

Wayne Avenue Widening, PID 110257 - The City of Dayton proposes to improve Wayne Avenue from Wyoming Street to Waldo Avenue. The project is intended to address the deteriorated and substandard condition of the roadway, including failed or failing pavement, subgrade, and storm facilities, and to address an elevated accident rate in the area of the driveways to Walgreens and Kroger, where no turn lane is present. The project will also address deteriorated and substandard pedestrian facilities and obsolete traffic signal systems. The project is expected to begin in Spring 2024 and requires up to 18 months to construct. 

West Stroop Sidewalk, PID 110255 – The City of Kettering proposes to install a sidewalk on the north side of Stroop Road, between Overland Trail and Southmoor Circle. The work includes the construction of a five-foot-wide sidewalk with a five-foot-wide grass strip to provide a buffer from passing automobiles. The project is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2024. 

Xenia Bike Lanes, PID 108352 – The City of Dayton proposes to improve bicycle access on Xenia Avenue from South Keowee Street to Linden Avenue. The project will include a mix of shared lane markings, bike lanes, and bike paths. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2023 and requires up to six months to construct.

Comments may be submitted by contacting the individual below. Issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Comments should be submitted by Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
