North Side: Temporary New Traffic Pattern at I-270/US 23

Drivers should expect delays

Highway Signs, Green with Orange Overlays

U.S. Route 23 -
Starting today, U.S. 23 south will be reduced to two lanes between Campus View Blvd. and I-270 for the next two weeks. Drivers headed to SR 315 or I-270 should stay in the right lane. The left lane will continue thru on U.S. 23 south.

This temporary new traffic pattern will allow crews to remove a portion of the concrete median between the I-270 exit lanes and U.S. 23 mainline and reconfigure the southbound lanes to reduce congestion. When the project is complete, each exit will have its own lane – the right lane for SR 315 traffic, the second to right for I-270 west, the third from right for I-270 east, and the left lane to continue on U.S. 23 south.

Drivers should expect heavy delays, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Work is expected to be complete by the end of the month, weather permitting.
