Interstate 71 Repaving Project Update
Hamilton County (Thursday, April 22, 2021) – Due to forecasted inclement weather, overnight restrictions this weekend on Interstate 71 North have been postponed; however, next week's closure of the Ridge Avenue exit is still on schedule.
Lane closures on I-71 North between S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway and Galbraith Road for bridge work are now scheduled to take place the weekend of April 30-May 3. A single-lane closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day, followed by a double-lane closure from 11 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day.
On Monday, April 26, the Ridge Avenue ramp (Exit 8C) from I-71 North will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. This is a permanent closure, and motorists will be routed by way of Exit 8A.
In addition, the Kennedy Avenue ramp to I-71 North will be closed for up to 120 days beginning at 10 p.m. Monday. The closure will be in effect through mid-August, and motorists will be detoured via Duck Creek Road and Red Bank Expressway to I-71 North.
Message boards, arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions while they are in place, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution.
