Interstate 71 Repaving Project Update

Hamilton County (Tuesday, April 20, 2021) – Overnight restrictions will be imparted this weekend on Interstate 71 North as part of the major rehabilitation project, and the Ridge Avenue exit, Exit 8C, from I-71 North is scheduled to be closed the following week.

Friday-Monday, April 23-26:

• Lane closures on I-71 North between S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway and Galbraith Road Road for bridge work, beginning with a single-lane closure from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day, followed by a double-lane closure from 11 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day.

Monday, April 26:

• Closure of the Ridge Avenue ramp (Exit 8C) from I-71 North beginning at 10 p.m. This is a permanent closure, and motorists will be routed by way of Exit 8A.
• Closure of the Kennedy Avenue ramp to I-71 North for up to 120 days beginning at 10 p.m. The closure will be in effect through mid-August, and motorists will be detoured via Duck Creek Road and Red Bank Expressway to I-71 North.

All work is contingent upon the weather. Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions while they are in place, and motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution.
