DEFIANCE COUNTY: Highway construction update
Week of April 19, 2021
LIMA, Ohio (Thursday, April 15, 2021) The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Defiance County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.
State Route 2 on the southwest side of Hicksville, will close on November 30 for approximately 150 days for storm sewer installation.
UPCOMING IMPACT

Detour: SR 18 to SR 8 to SR 101 to SR 37/SR 2 (see map).
State Route 2 over the Lost Creek, between County Road 72/Blosser Road and County Road 62/Ensign Road, which is located approximately 2 miles south of the community of Farmer closed on March 1 for 120 days for a bridge replacement.
TRAFFIC IMPACT
- Detour: SR 249 to SR 49 back to SR 2 (see map).
State Route 18 / Main Street between Elm St. and Meuse Argonne St., in the village of Hicksville, will close on Monday, April 5 for 30 days for railroad repair.
Detour: Meuse Argonne St. to Elm St. back to SR 18 / Main St. (see map).
Various routes will have moving operations for herbicidal spraying along the right-of-way and guardrail.
