Butler County (Thursday, March 4, 2021) – A bridge rehabilitation project will get under way this month on state Route 122 in the city of Middletown.
On Monday, March 15, crews from Heavy Highway Construction Company will start construction to replace the bearings, modify the abutment seats and replace expansion joints on the structure over University Boulevard.
During the first phase of the project, the outside lanes of S.R. 122 (Reinartz Boulevard)will be closed between Charles and Moore streets, and traffic will be maintained in the inside lanes. Traffic will remain in this configuration until approximately June 1; after which, construction will shift to the inside lanes, and these lanes will be closed.
Heavy Highway Construction Company was awarded the $622,000 contract, and the project is scheduled to be complete in September 2021.
All work will be contingent upon the weather, and for ongoing traffic, construction and weather-related information throughout the state, please visit www.OHGO.com.
