Construction Work Set To Begin For Little Miami Scenic Trail/Beechmont Bridge Connector

Hamilton County (Monday, March 1, 2021) – Construction of a new segment of the Little Miami Scenic Trail will get under way this week at state Route 32 and Beechmont Avenue in Hamilton County, and ramp closures will be in effect this week.

Beginning Monday, March 1, crews from Duke Energy will be relocating utility lines at the junction of S.R. 32 and S.R. 125, requiring full closure on the ramp from S.R. 32 to S.R. 125 West. Ramp closures will be in effect throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Known as the Beechmont Bridge Connector, the project includes constructing a new, half-mile segment of the Little Miami Scenic Trail from the existing trail along S.R. 32 north of Beechmont Avenue to Lunken Trail, west of the Little Miami River.

As part of the Great Parks of Hamilton County's Little Miami Scene Trail, this is the final extension of the trail, and it will allow trail users to safely travel from the Little Miami Scenic Trail to the Ohio River Trail for the first time.

The Kokosing Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $7.9 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in August 2021.
