Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project Update

Traffic Switch Scheduled for I-75 South

Hamilton County (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020) - The following restrictions will be in place this week on the Interstate 74/75 Mill Creek Expressway project to establish a new traffic pattern.

Wednesday, Dec. 30:

• Single-lane closure on I-75 South from Mitchell Avenue to Hopple Street between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., and a double-lane closure between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31.
• Single-lane closure on I-74 East from Colerain Avenue to the I-75 interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday.
• Intermittent, short-term (15-minute duration) full closures on I-74 and I-75 within the construction zone between midnight and 5 a.m. Thursday.

Thursday, Dec. 31:

• Full closure of the ramp from I-75 South to I-74 West between 12:01 a.m. and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Hopple Street.

Once all restrictions are complete, I-75 South traffic will be switched into a contraflow lane from south of Mitchell Avenue to north of Hopple Street.

• Motorists using the contraflow lane who wish to exit at Hopple Street will need to use the far right lane.
• There will be no access to I-74 West from the contraflow lane. Traffic exiting to I-74 West must use the far right lane of I-75 South prior to the entrance of the  contraflow lane.

Motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution through the work zone to help ensure the safety of crews as well as the traveling public: Remain alert, reduce speed and watch for stopped traffic.
