New Exit Ramp to
Stringtown Road Opens Tomorrow

PROJECT MILESTONE: Grove City residents expect major relief when the new exit ramp from Interstate 71 south to Stringtown Road opens by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Rendering of Overhead Signs for New Ramp

Starting tomorrow afternoon, southbound drivers planning to exit at Stringtown Rd. will need to make their decision much sooner than before. Traffic headed to Interstate 270 and traffic going to Stringtown Rd. will exit at the same time (see rendering above). Once on the ramp, I-270 west traffic will split off to the right. Then after traveling over I-270, the ramp splits again - I-270 east to the left and Stringtown Rd. traffic to the right.

Exiting sooner eliminates the unsafe weaving and merging that typically causes congestion between I-270 and Stringtown Rd. There will still be an opportunity for traffic entering I-71 south from I-270 to exit at Stringtown Rd.

This ramp opening marks a final milestone in this $120 million mega project to widen I-71 from I-70 to Stringtown Rd. Crews are working to complete final paving by the end of November, weather permitting. This Spring, crews will install the traffic signal at the new State Route 104/Frank Rd. intersection east of I-71 before it opens to traffic.
