ATHENS COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2020

MARIETTA, Ohio (Thursday, September 24, 2020) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Athens County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. Click on each route to see the location at OHGO.com.

U.S. 33/U.S. 50 PROJECTS

U.S. 50 resurfacing - A resurfacing project is taking place on U.S. 50 between Blackburn Road and Della Drive. One lane is being maintained in each direction. Estimated completion: October 30, 2020

U.S. 33 resurfacing - A resurfacing project is taking place on U.S. 33 between Richland Avenue and Stimson Avenue. One lane is being maintained in each direction. Estimated completion: October 30, 2020

U.S. 33/U.S. 50 bridge painting - Six bridges on U.S. 33 and U.S. 50 are being painted. Single lane closures and 12 foot width restrictions are in place. Estimated completion: October 31, 2020

SR 124 landslide- One lane of SR 124 is closed between Old SR 124 and Bowman Road (Township Road 174) for a landslide repair project. Temporary traffic signals and an 11 foot width restriction are in place. Estimated completion: October 21, 2020

SR 56 bridge work - SR 56 is closed between Windfall Ridge Road (Township Road 557) and Kenny Drive (Township Road 469) for a bridge repair project. ODOT's detour is SR 56 E to SR 682 S to US 50 W to SR 681 W to SR 356 N to SR 56 E. Estimated completion:
