Public Comment Period Open for

State Route 73 Turn Lane Project

Chillicothe (Wednesday, September 30, 2020) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a turn lane project on State Route 73 in Scioto County.

SCI-SR 73-21.00 (PID: 112329) - It is proposed to widen approximately 0.85 miles of State Route 73 for the addition of a two way left turn lane. The project is located in a residential area of Washington and Scioto Townships in Scioto County. The project starts at the intersection of SR 73 and Noel Street and ends approximately 0.4 miles south of the intersection of SR 73 and Raymond Road.

The project area will require approximately 0.75 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along mowed residential lawns.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

Currently State Route 73 will be open during construction.

The funding for the project is 90% Federal and 10% State. The environmental commitment date is 2/5/2021. The project is currently expected to be awarded 1/1/2022.
