TUSCARAWAS COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF AUGUST 31, 2020

New Philadelphia, Ohio (August 27, 2020) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Tuscarawas County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting.


The following projects are ongoing in Tuscarawas County:

I-77_small

Interstate 77 Projects

I-77 resurfacing project: Work is set to begin Sunday, July 19, to resurface nearly three miles of I-77 from the U.S. Route 250/I-77 interchange in New Philadelphia to Exit 83 (SR 39/SR 211) in Dover. This work will take place during nighttime hours, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.. During this work, one lane of traffic will be maintained. Completion date: September 30, 2020.

I-77 restricted near Bolivar for bridge replacement project: Project to replace the I-77 twin bridges located over SR 212 in Bolivar. Traffic maintained in each direction via crossovers; future lane restrictions may take place throughout the project. Completion date: July 31, 2021.

I-77 restricted near Newcomerstown for bridge replacement project: Project to replace the I-77 twin bridges located over U.S. 36 in Newcomerstown. Traffic maintained in each direction via crossovers; future lane restrictions may take place throughout the project. Completion date: October 31, 2020.

SR 800

State Route 800 Project

State Route 800 resurfacing in Dennison:  Resurfacing of SR 800 through the village of Dennison from Elm St. to U.S. 250. Traffic maintained via flaggers. Completion date: October 15, 2020.

 

State Route 258 resurfacing project: Includes the resurfacing of 7.5 miles of SR 258 through Tuscarawas and Harrison Counties from SR 332 to SR 800 through. Traffic maintained via flaggers. Completion date: October 15, 2020.

State Route 39 resurfacing: Resurfacing of SR 39 from SR 211 (North Tuscarawas Avenue) in Dover to 11th Street in New Philadelphia. Traffic maintained via flaggers. Completion date: September 30, 2020.
