FAYETTE COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF AUGUST 30, 2020

DELAWARE, Ohio (Thursday, August 27, 2020) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Fayette County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Temple Street bridge replacement - Replace Temple St. bridge over Paint Creek between Veterans Way and U.S. 22 (Clinton Ave.). Estimated completion: Oct. 2020

CONTINUING IMPACTS

Temple Street bridge replacement - The Temple St. bridge over Paint Creek between Veterans Way and U.S. 22 will close starting Monday, July 27 until Monday, November 30. for bridge replacement. Detour: Traffic should use the U.S. 22/U.S. 62 bridge.

U.S. Route 62

U.S. Route 62 bridge replacement - U.S. Route 62 will experience lane restrictions and a bridge closure for the removal and replacement of the existing superstructure over Rattlesnake Creek. Additional repair work and modifications will be done on the roadway approach between Greenfield-Sabina Rd. and Miami Trace Rd. Estimated completion: Oct. 2020

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. Route 62 between Greenfield Sabina Rd. and Miami Trace Rd. is closed until Saturday, Sept. 5 for bridge replacement. 

• Detour: U.S. 62 to SR 28 to SR 72 to U.S. 22 or reverse. 

U.S. Route 62 intersection safety - Add new left turn lanes on U.S. 62 at the SR 38 intersection. Estimated completion: Oct. 2020

CONTINUING IMPACTS

The intersection U.S. Route 62 and SR 38 will have various daily lane restrictions starting Wednesday, July 15 through October 2020. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. 

District spot paving - Repair pavement and resurface U.S. 62 from Schadel Rd. to the Madison/Fayette County Line. Repair pavement and resurface SR 207 north of Wingate Place in Madison County to the Fayette/Pickaway County Line. Estimated completion: Sept. 2020

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. Route 62 between Beale Rd. and Scioto-Darby Rd. continues to have daily lane restrictions for spot paving. Estimated completion: Sept. 2020. 

State Route 207 between Miler Road and U.S. 62 continues to have daily lane restrictions for paving. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Sept. 2020.

State Routes 729 and 734

CONTINUING IMPACTS

State Routes 729 and 734 preventative maintenance - SR 734 between I-71 and SR 38, and SR 729 between the Fayette/Clinton County Line and SR 323 in Madison County, will have daily lane restrictions for chip sealing and pavement repairs. Estimated completion: Sept. 2020

U.S. Route 35

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. Route 35 resurfacing project - U.S. 35 northbound and southbound between SR 435 and SR 753 continues to be restricted to one lane for resurfacing and bridge deck overlay. Estimated completion: Thursday, Oct. 15.
