S.R. 123 Culvert Replacement To Begin This Month
Warren County (Tuesday, July 7, 2020) – A culvert replacement is set to begin on state Route 123 in Warren County this month, and the route will be closed for up to 26 days.
On Monday, July 27, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close S.R. 123 just north of S.R. 28 at Blanchester to replace the existing culvert with an 8x6' box culvert and install new guardrail.
The project site is located between Township Road 208 (Watkins Bowman Road) and T.R. 264 (Carter Howell Road), and the closure will be in effect through Friday, August 21. While S.R. 123 is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 28 and S.R. 132.
Rack and Ballauer Excavating was awarded a contract for approximately $1.64 million to replace the culvert on S.R. 123, as well as culverts on U.S. 42 in Warren County and S.R. 222, S.R. 232 and S.R. 133 in Clermont County. All work associated with the entire project is scheduled for completion in late summer.
All work will be contingent upon the weather, and for ongoing traffic, construction and weather-related information throughout the state, please visit www.OHGO.com.
