Traffic Changes To Be Implemented For

U.S. 22/S.R. 126 Roundabout Construction

Hamilton County (Friday, July 3, 2020) - Traffic changes will be implemented late next week for the U.S. Route 22 (Montgomery Road) roundabout project in Montgomery.

On Saturday, July 11, contractors will transition into Phase 2 of the maintenance of traffic plan for the Montgomery Quarter Development project at state Route 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway.

As part of this, the bridge carrying U.S. 22 traffic over S.R. 126 will be closed for demolition, embankment construction and pavement installation, and motorists will be re-routed onto the newly paved temporary runaround.

Various lane closures will be in effect throughout the day while crews remove old and place new pavement markings to establish the new traffic pattern. Once implemented, the traffic pattern will be in place through early fall.

The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $7.3 million to build the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2021.
