PREBLE COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Through the week ending July 4, 2020: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Preble County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. 70

INTERSTATE 70 CONSTRUCTION

 

I-70 Bridge Rehabilitation and Resurfacing  -  From the Indiana State line to the Montgomery County line. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in either direction. The entire project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2022.

 

NEW IMPACTS

I-70 & U.S. 127 Paving - The I-70 exit and entrance ramps to and from U.S. 127 will be closed in either direction intermittently during the overnight hours the week of June 28 for pavement repairs. Ramp closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. each night to 10 a.m. the following day. In addition, single-lane restrictions will be in effect on I-70 West at the interchange. Westbound motorists will be detoured via U.S. 40, and eastbound traffic will be routed by way of S.R. 503 and U.S. 40.


CONTINUING IMPACTS

 

US 35

U.S. 35 Resurfacing - Between I-70 and S.R. 320 for paving operations as part of the I-70 rehabilitation project. Southbound motorists will be rerouted to the northbound side of the route, and bi-directional traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane in each direction. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2020.

U.S. 35 Bridge Replacement  - At Stover Road, east of Eaton. Traffic on U.S. 35 is being maintained with temporary signals. Stover Road) is closed through late July, and motorists are being detoured by way of Wolf Road.

U.S. 35 Culvert Replacement - At the intersection of U.S. 35 and C.R. 16 (Crawfordsville-Cambellstown Road). Currently, U.S. 35 is open to traffic; however, it will be closed July 6 for up to 21 days, and traffic will be detoured via S.R. 320, U.S. 40 and U.S. 127. Crawfordsville-Campbellstown Road will also be closed, and traffic will be detoured by way of Oxford Gettysburg Road, Washington Jackson Road and Toby Road. All work is anticipated to be complete by the end of July.



NEW IMPACTS

S.R. 503 & S.R. 725 Clearing & Grubbing - On S.R. 503, at locations between Gratis and Ray Road, and on S.R. 725 near Parrish Drive, east of S.R. 122. Traffic will be maintained by arrow boards and/or barrels or cones.

S.R. 725 & S.R. 732 Ditching - On S.R. 725 between Fairhaven-College Corner and Creek roads, and on S.R. 723 at the Butler County line. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers in either work zone.

S.R. 726 Culvert Replacement - Just south of Shurley Road at the 6.58-mile marker. The closure will go into effect Monday, June 29, and it will remain in place through Monday, July 20. Motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 726, S.R. 722, U.S. 127 and U.S. 40.
