Construction Set To Begin On S.R. 844 Ramp

Greene County (Wednesday, June 24, 2020) – A bridge repair project will take place next month on state route 844, and restrictions will be in effect at the S.R. 444 interchange for up to two weeks.

On Monday, July 6, contractors will close the on-ramp from northbound S.R. 844 to S.R. 444 to repair the bridge deck and replace the expansion joint. In addition to the ramp closure, single-lane restrictions will be in effect on S.R. 844 North at the overpass, with the northbound right lane on S.R. 844 closed for seven days beginning July 6, followed by the left lane, which will then be closed for seven days beginning July 13.

While the ramp is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of University Drive, Col. Glenn Highway and West Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. Traffic to Skeel Avenue from S.R. 844 will be maintained through the work zone.

Complete General Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $2.16 million to repair several structures throughout the district, and work is anticipated to be completed by July 20.
