State Route 772 Culvert Replacement

Chillicothe (Monday, June 15, 2020) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a project that will replace a culvert on state Route 772.

ROS-SR 772-12.58 (PID: 108921) - It is proposed to replace the existing structure on SR 772 at the 12.58 mile mark in Ross County, Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Huntington Township.

The existing structure is a 60” corrugated metal pipe (CMP). The new structure will be a 78” Type A conduit with half height headwalls.

The project will require approximately 0.192 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along a stream channel and residential lawn.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.

The state detour will be SR 772 to SR 220 to US 23 to SR 104 to US 50 to SR 772. The state detour is approximately 25.0 miles.

The local detour will be SR 772 to CR 175 (Liberty Hill Rd) to CR 184 (Rozelle Creek Rd) to SR 772. The local detour is approximately 6.0 miles.

The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The environmental commitment date is 4/1/2021. The project is currently expected to be awarded 10/1/2021.
