ROSS COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JUNE 1

Chillicothe, Ohio (Thursday, May 28, 2020) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ross County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. 35

U.S. 35 resurfacing – U.S. 35 between U.S. 50 and Vigo Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction for this construction. Estimated completion: Summer 2020.

NEW - Biers Run Road bridge over U.S. 35 – Starting June 1 at 7 a.m., Biers Run Road will be closed for 30 days for a bridge maintenance project. Traffic will be detoured around the closure via Cattail Road, Egypt Pike, Pleasant Valley Road, and County Road 550. Estimated completion: Summer 2020

State Route 207 connector project – state Route 207 at the U.S. 23 interchange and Hospital Road will experience daily lane closures and restrictions. State Route 159 will be reduced to one lane in each direction north of Delano Road. State Route 159 will be reduced to one lane at the intersection with state Route 180, with traffic maintained using temporary signals. Estimated completion: Fall 2020.

State Route 207 culvert replacement – located on state Route 207 just south of Clarksburg. This replacement will be completed via jack-and-bore, with minimal impacts to traffic. When necessary, traffic will be maintained in one lane using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2020.

State Route 104 bridge maintenance – state Route 104 over Yellow Bud Creek between Yellowbud road and the Pickaway County line is reduced to one lane. Traffic will be maintained using temporary signals. Estimated completion: Summer 2020.

U.S. 50 (Western Avenue) safety improvements - Work has resumed on a safety project to add turn lanes and improve signalization at Plyleys Lane and Western Avenue (U.S. 50) in the city of Chillicothe. Western Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Estimated completion: Summer 2020.

State Route 41 resurfacing – state Route 41 between U.S. 50 and state Route 28 will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with traffic maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2020.
