Clermont County (Wednesday, May 20, 2020) – Construction for a culvert preservation project on state Route 222 in Clermont County is scheduled to begin, and the route will be closed early next week.
On Tuesday, May 26, S.R. 222 will be closed just south of U.S. Route 50 for up to 38 days while crews replace two culverts located between County Road 99 (Olive Brank Stonelick Road) and Township Road 357 (Possum Hollow Road).
The first project site is located just south of Autumn Oak Drive, north of Possum Hollow Road, and the route will be closed for up to 19 days. The second culvert to be replaced is situated just north of Autumn Oak, and the route will be closed for up to 19 days at this location beginning June 15.
Each project and the period of closure will run consecutively, and traffic will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 and S.R. 132 throughout the duration of the project.
Rack and Ballauer Excavating Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.64 million to replace these culverts, as well as culverts on S.R. 232 and 133 in Clermont County and on S.R. 123 and U.S. 42 in Warren County, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late summer of this year.
