FAYETTE COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF MAY 24, 2020

DELAWARE, Ohio (Thursday, May 21, 2020) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Fayette County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. Route 62

U.S. Route 62 bridge replacement - U.S. Route 62 will experience lane restrictions and a bridge closure for the removal and replacement of the existing superstructure over Rattlesnake Creek. Additional repair work and modifications will be done on the roadway approach between Greenfield-Sabina Rd. and Miami Trace Rd. Estimated completion: Oct. 2020

NEW IMPACTS

The bridge closure on U.S. 62 between Greenfield Sabina Rd. and Miami Trace Rd. has been delayed due to weather concerns. The bridge will now close Monday, June 8 through Saturday, August 22. 

• Northbound detour: U.S. 62 northbound to SR 28 westbound to SR 72 northbound to U.S. 22 eastbound. 
• Southbound detour: U.S. 62 southbound to Connector Rd. to U.S. 22 westbound to SR 72 southbound to SR 28.  

U.S. Route 62 intersection safety - Add new left turn lanes on U.S. 62 at the SR 38 intersection. Estimated completion: Oct. 2020

NEW IMPACTS

U.S. 62 at SR 38 will be restricted to one lane daily starting Monday, June 1 through Friday, October 30 for drainage work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. 

State Route 38

NEW IMPACTS

State Route 38 culvert replacement - SR 38 will close for culvert replacements starting Monday, May 25. Estimated completion: Friday, June 5. Detour: SR 38 to U.S. 62 to SR 41 to I-71 to SR 38. 

State Route 41

NEW IMPACTS

State Routes 41 and 753 resurfacing - SR 41 between U.S. 62 and I-71 will have daily lane restrictions for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: Monday, August 31. 

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. Route 35 resurfacing project - U.S. 35 northbound and southbound between SR 435 and SR 753 continues to be restricted to one lane for resurfacing and bridge deck overlay. Estimated completion: Thursday, Oct. 15.
