US Route 20: Major Widening Update
LORAIN COUNTY (Friday, March 6, 2020) US 20, between Stoney Ridge Rd. and Lear Nagle Rd., will have one lane of traffic maintained in each direction.Crews continue to remove asphalt pavement on US 20 from Ridgeview Blvd. to Jaycox Rd, and will begin removing pavement/bricks on US 20 from the west end of the project to Jaycox Rd. The bottom of the French Creek culvert will be formed and poured. The sidewalks on Sinta Run will be graded, formed, and poured.
Crews will begin excavating and pouring temporary concrete on SR 83 and Emerald St. for maintenance of traffic pavement. Traffic on SR 83 and Emerald St. will be maintained with flaggers and temporary traffic signals while crews perform the temporary pavement work.
Lastly, weather permitting, crews will be out to touch up the faded pavement markings on US 20.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing by the work zone.Pedestrians and bicyclists should use extreme caution while traveling through the work zone and stay out of the active work area to avoid conflicts with construction vehicles and equipment.
The project is expected to be complete Fall of 2020; however, all work is weather dependent and is subject to change.
