The Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 is currently hiring SEASONAL Highway Technician 1 positions for the Winter Snow and Ice Season in Highland and Ross counties. These are seasonal/temporary positions NOT to exceed 1,000 hours, and based on operational need, successful candidates may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and/or be on call.
By becoming a Highway Technician 1 at ODOT and taking part in our mission, you will:
- Operate basic equipment, such as backhoes, loaders, graders, tractors, and trucks requiring Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement.
- Perform snow and ice duties.
- Perform general highway maintenance duties.
- Receive training (i.e., on the job and formal) in the operation of equipment.
The seasonal HT-1s will not begin employment until November 25th, 2019, and applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screening and pass a physical ability test.
