Construction Update 

ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report

For the week of August 26

MEDINA COUNTY

North Carpenter Road
North Carpenter Rd., from Concord Dr. to Boston Rd., will have single lane closures throughout the project. Crews will continue work on the concrete roadway between Beaumont Dr. and Clover Dr. They will be hand pouring small section of roadway as needed. Work still continues on the installation of various drainage items throughout the project limits. North Carpenter Rd. northbound, between Grafton Rd. and Valley Forge Dr., is now closed. The detour route for northbound motorists is to go east on SR 303 to W. 130th St., north on W. 130th St. to Grafton Rd., west on Grafton Rd. to North Carpenter Rd., and reverse for southbound motorists. ALL northbound traffic will be detoured. Southbound traffic will be maintained for local traffic ONLY. This phase of the project is expected to be complete in 120 days. Detour routes are posted. Interstate 71
I-71, between SR 162 and SR 18, will have intermittent single lane closures for bridge repairs. Crews will be working along the should and will utilize single lane closures when necessary. The project is expected to be complete October 2019. 

Interstate 76
I-76 eastbound and westbound, from Lake Rd. to the SR 57 ramps, will have intermittent closures as crews complete resurfacing work. During nighttime work, traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic. By 7:00am two lanes of traffic will be open. The project is expected to be complete October 2019. 

State Route 83
SR 83, from the Village of Lodi to SR 18, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a micro-surfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flagger. The project is expected to be complete September 2019. 

State Route 94
SR 94/SR 303, just east of SR 606 over the Rocky River, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR94/SR 303 to SR 3, north on SR 3 to SR 82, east on SR 82 to SR 94, south on SR 94 to SR 94/SR 303, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

US Route 224: RCUT ***UPDATE***
US 224, at the intersection with Westfield Center Rd., will have single lane closures in each direction for the construction of an R-Cut. Westfield Rd, at it’s intersection with US 224, will close Tuesday, August 27 due to the RCUT construction along US 224. The detour route for southbound motorists is Westfield Rd. to Kennard Rd., east on Kennard Rd. to Lake Rd., south on Lake Rd. to Greenwich Rd., and west on Greenwich Rd. back to Westfield Rd. southbound. The detour route for northbound motorists is Westfield Rd. to Greenwich Rd., east on Greenwich Rd. to Lake Rd., north on Lake Rd. to US 224, and west on US 224 to Westfield Rd. northbound. The intersection is expected to reopen Thursday, October 31, 2019. The driving lanes on US 224 will be closed in both directions to begin slot widening of the new outside lanes on either side of Westfield Rd. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert and reduce their speed while passing by the work zone. The entire project is expected to be complete May 2020.

US Route 224: Resurfacing
US 224, from the Ashland County line to US 42, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete August 2019.
