PROJECT UPDATE: US 33/Fishinger Road Intersection Improvements

The ODOT project to widen US 33 (Riverside Drive) at the Fishinger Road intersection is making progress. Overnight tonight, crews will move into the next phase of work, which means a new traffic pattern at the intersection.

By 5 AM Tuesday, July 2:

  • EB Fishinger Rd. across the bridge will be back to its original configuration - that means the right lane must turn right.
  • US 33 (Riverside Dr.) will still be reduced to one through lane in each direction at the intersection, but will be shifted onto new pavement.
  • Left turn lanes from US 33 onto Fishinger Rd. will also be available.
  • WB Fishinger Rd. will not change.

This $2 million project will construct a second left-turn lane from US 33 north to westbound Fishinger Road and a dedicated right-turn lane from US 33 south to westbound Fishinger. It also includes upgraded drainage and a new traffic signal. It's expected to be complete with all lanes open by the end of September, weather permitting.
