Construction Update 

ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report

For the week of June 17

MEDINA COUNTY

North Carpenter Road ***UPDATE***
Carpenter Rd., from Concord Dr. to Boston Rd., as well as a portion of Grafton Rd. in the City of Brunswick Hills, will have single lane closures throughout the project. Grafton Rd. will be opened back up to full traffic flow Monday, June 17. N. Carpenter Rd. northbound, between Grafton Rd. and Valley Forge Dr., will close Monday, June 17. This phase change is necessary for crews to complete pavement widening, storm sewer updates, turn lanes, signal work, and other miscellaneous work within the project limits. The detour route for northbound motorists is to go east on SR 303 to W. 130th St., north on W. 130th St. to Grafton Rd., west on Grafton Rd. to N. Carpenter Rd., and reverse for southbound motorists. ALL northbound traffic will be detoured. Southbound traffic will be maintained for local traffic ONLY. This phase of the project is expected to be complete in 120 days. Detour routes are posted. State Route 18 ***UPDATE***
SR 18, between Erhart Rd. and Beat Rd., will reopen for the weekend. It was previously closed for a culvert replacement. SR 18 will then close again, Monday, June 17, for another culvert replacement just west of the previous location. The detour route will remain the same. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 18 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 57, east/southeast on SR 57 to SR 18, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Thursday, June 27, 2019. 

US Route 42: Culvert Removal
US 42, at the intersection of US 42 and Westfield Rd., is closed for a culvert removal. The detour route for southbound motorists is US 42 to SR 162, east on SR 162 to SR 3, south on SR 3 to US 224, west on US 224 to US 42, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Monday, July 1, 2019.

US Route 42: Smooth Seal
US 42, from the Village of Lodi to the City of Medina corp. limits, will have intermittent single lane closures for a smooth seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete August 2019. 

US Route 42: Widening Project
US 42, from just south of Harding Street to just south of Reagan Parkway, will have intermittent lane closures as crews continue and finish project work. There will be daily lane closures with arrow boards directing traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. Specific project work can be found online at dot.state.oh.us/districts/D03/Pages/MED-42_WideningProject. The entire project is expected to be completed June 2019.

Interstate 71
I-71, between SR 3 and SR 18, will have intermittent single lane closures northbound and southbound as crews work on striping and sealing bridge decks. The project is expected to be complete June 2019.

Interstate 76: Lighting
I-76 westbound at the weigh station, between SR 57 and SR 3, will have work at the weigh station and along the ramp shoulder. Crews will be completing lighting work. The project is expected to be complete October 2019.

Interstate 76: Resurfacing
I-76 eastbound and westbound, from Lake Rd. to the SR 57 ramps, will have nightly lane closures as crews complete resurfacing work. During nighttime work traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic. By 7:00am two lanes of traffic will be open. The project is expected to be complete October 2019.

State Route 94 ***NEW***
SR 94 in the City of Wadsworth, from Valley View Dr. to Smokerise Dr., will have intermittent single lane closures for repair work. Crews will be performing repairs at various locations along the project. Please note, single lane closures and temporary drive closures should be expected. The project is expected to be complete July 2019.

State Route 301
SR 301, from the Village of Spencer to the Lorain County line, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing and bridge repair project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete September 2019.

US Route 224
US 224, from the Ashland County line to US 42, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete August 2019.
