S.R. 41 Bridge Replacement Project On Tap
Chillicothe (Wednesday, June 5, 2019) – Construction for a bridge replacement project on state Route 41 between Jacksonville and Dunkinsville in Adams County is scheduled to begin, and lane restrictions will be in place early next week.
On Monday, June 10, crews from Axis Civil Construction will start operations to replace the bridge situated over Murphy Run and located between County Road 6 (Fawcett Road) and Township Road 91 (Murphin Ridge Road), south of S.R. 32.
Built in 1920, the existing structure is a single-span concrete slab bridge, and it will be replaced with a three-sided arched top culvert on reinforced concrete footings. During construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary signals.
Axis Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $779,246 to replace the structure, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early fall.
