ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report

For the week of May 6

MEDINA COUNTY

North Carpenter Road ***UPDATE***
Carpenter Rd., from Concord Dr. to Boston Rd., as well as a portion of Grafton Rd. in the City of Brunswick Hills, will have single lane closures throughout the project. N. Carpenter Rd., at its intersection with Grafton Rd., will close Monday, May 6 at midnight for the next phase of the project. The closure is necessary for crews to complete pavement widening, storm sewer work, turn lanes, signals, and all other miscellaneous project work. N. Carpenter Rd. will be closed in both directions from the intersection for approximately 500ft. south of Grafton Rd. This phase of the project is expected to be complete June 2019. The closure will affect Grafton Rd. westbound traffic ONLY. Motorists will only be permitted to drive eastbound on Grafton Rd. Detour routes are posted. US Route 42: Smooth Seal
US 42, from the Village of Lodi to the City of Medina corp. limits, will have intermittent single lane closures for a smooth seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete August 2019. 

US Route 42: Culvert Replacement
US 42, between Spencer Lake Rd. and Westfield Rd., is closed for culvert replacements. The detour route for northbound motorists is US 42 to SR 162, east on SR 162 to SR 3, north on SR 3 to US 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete May 8, 2019.

US Route 42:Widening Project ***UPDATE***
US 42, from just south of Harding Street to just south of Reagan Parkway, will have intermittent lane closures as crews continue and finish project work. Hillview Way, at its intersection with US 42, will close Tuesday, May 7 to repair portions of the concrete pavement; the roadway will reopen Friday, May 10.  Stonegate Dr. will be reduced to one lane of traffic beginning Tuesday, May 7 for pavement repairs; crews will utilize a signal for two-way traffic. The drive going to Mattress Firm/Panera Bread may be closed due to its proximity to the traffic light; if crews are able to move the zone further east they will be able to keep the drive open. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and be aware of changes that may occur throughout the day in the workzone. There will be daily lane closures with arrow boards directing traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone and to be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the zone. Interstate 71
I-71, between SR 3 and SR 18, will have intermittent single lane closures northbound and southbound as crews work on striping and sealing bridge decks. The project is expected to be complete June 2019.

State Route 301
SR 301, from the Village of Spencer to the Lorain County line, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing and bridge repair project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete September 2019.
