SR 582 Minor Widening and Bridge Rehabilitation

Closures begin Monday, May 13

 

BOWLING GREEN - The SR 582 minor widening and bridge rehabilitation project has started preparing for closures beginning Monday, May 13.

This project is upgrading 5 miles of SR 582 by widening and reconstructing between I-75 and SR 199. This project will include the bridges over I-75, Carter Rd and Packer Creek; drainage; ditch work; guardrail upgrades; and related work.

Monday, May 13 through October, SR 582/Middleton Pike between I-75 and SR 199 will be closed to through traffic. However, residential access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Monday, May 13 begins two closures on SR 582, one on either side of the project:

  • SR 582 will be closed between Caris Rd and Carter Rd through mid-June for culvert installation, drainage work, and roadway reconstruction. North-south roads, including SR 199, will remain open.

  • SR 582 bridge over I-75 will be closed through mid-June for rehabilitation. Also, Wednesday, May 29 through mid-June, the I-75 on/off ramps will be closed.

Monday, May 13 through mid-June

  • SR 582 bridge over I-75 will be closed for rehabilitation
  • SR 582 will be closed between Carter Rd. and Caris Rd. for culvert installation, drainage work, and roadway reconstruction
  • North-south roads including SR 199 will remain open
  • Detours: US 6 (Exit 179); SR 199 or I-475 (Exit 192); SR 25 (Exit 2)

 

Wednesday, May 29 through mid-June

  • Ramps to/from I-75 to/from SR 582 will be closed Detours:  US 6 (Exit 179); SR 199 and I-475 (Exit 192); SR 25 (Exit 2)

 

Additional restrictions and closures will be announced

Residential access will be maintained
