New Traffic Pattern on I-270 North Starts Saturday

This weekend, crews will shift all three lanes of Interstate 270 north onto temporary pavement just north of Johnstown Road. This will allow the contractor to reconstruct
I-270 north between I-670 and Easton Way.

Northbound traffic will travel on the temporary pavement adjacent to I-270 until the Agler Road overpass, where the ramps from I-670 and US 62 enter. This traffic pattern will be in effect for up to three months.

Just south of the McCutcheon Road overpass, I-270 north will be reduced to four lanes and shifted to the right until Easton Way and Morse Road.

Exits to Easton and SR 161 remain the same. Drivers who want to exit should be in the right two lanes. Stay in the left three lanes to continue on I-270 north.

Here's how traffic will be impacted Friday and Saturday nights, weather permitting.

FRIDAY, APRIL 26

Interstate 270 -

8 PM: I-270 NB will reduce to two lanes between Johnstown Rd. & I-670 and the following ramps will be impacted:
- US 62 WB to I-270 NB will close
  Detour: US 62 WB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB
- I-670 EB to I-270 NB will reduce to one lane
9 PM: I-270 NB will reduce to two lanes between Hamilton Rd. & I-670
11 PM : I-270 NB will reduce to one lane between Hamilton Rd. & I-670
12 AM: I-270 NB will reduce to one lane between I-670 & Easton Way and the following ramps will close:
- I-670 EB to I-270 NB
  Detour: I-670 EB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB
- I-670 EB to US 62 EB
  Detour: I-670 EB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB to US 62 EB
- I-270 NB to Easton Way
  Detour: I-270 NB to SR 3 to I-270 SB to Easton Way
- I-270 NB to SR 161 EB & WB
  Detour: I-270 NB to SR 3 to I-270 SB to SR 161
7 AM: All lanes and ramps open

SATURDAY, APRIL 27

Interstate 270 -

7 PM: I-270 NB will reduce to two lanes between Johnstown Rd. & I-670 and the ramp from US 62 WB to I-270 NB will close. The detour is US 62 WB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB.
8 PM: The ramp from I-670 EB to I-270 NB will reduce to one lane
9 PM: The following ramps will close:
- I-670 EB to I-270 NB
  Detour: I-670 EB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB
- I-670 EB to US 62 EB
  Detour: I-670 EB to I-270 SB to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 NB to US 62 EB
10 PM: I-270 NB will reduce to one lane between I-670 & Morse Road and the following ramps will close:
- I-270 NB to Easton Way
  Detour: I-270 NB to SR 3 to I-270 SB to Easton Way
- I-270 NB to SR 161 EB & WB
  Detour: I-270 NB to SR 3 to I-270 SB to SR 161
7 AM: All lanes and ramps open
