Upcoming ODOT Work This Week

For the week ending April 6, 2019: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Ross County. ROSS COUNTY

A bridge demolition project has begun over U.S. 23, where crews are removing the C.R. 13 (Overbridge Road) bridge which crosses over U.S. 23 just north of the S.R. 159 interchange. Single-lane restrictions in both the north and southbound direction on U.S. 23 will be in effect, and the route will also be subject to temporary overnight closure in either direction, as outlined below. • SUNDAY, MARCH 31: U.S. 23 North will be closed at the Overbridge Road overpass, immediately north of the S.R. 159 interchange, for demolition of the overpass bridge. The NORTHBOUND lanes will be closed from approximately 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, April 1. Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via U.S. 35, S.R. 104 and S.R. 207. Access will continue to be maintained to the S.R. 159 interchange.
• MONDAY, APRIL 1: U.S. 23 South will be closed at the Overbridge Road overpass, immediately north of S.R. 159 interchange, for demolition of the overpass bridge. The closure will in effect in the SOUTHBOUND lanes only from approximately 10 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 2. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 207, S.R. 104 and U.S. 35.

MONDAY, APRIL 1: A culvert liner installation project is scheduled to begin on U.S. 35 at Chillicothe. Crews will be paving culverts liners at two structures located under U.S. 35 between the C.R. 550 and Pleasant Valley interchanges. All work will be conducted off the roadway, so there should be little to no impact to traffic, and the project is anticipated to be completed by late April. (#18-0507)

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2-3: S.R. 41 will be closed immediately north of the junction with T.R. 13D (Paugh Road), north of Bainbridge, on Tuesday and Wednesday during daytime, working hours for a two-day culvert replacement project. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, with the route open to evening and overnight travel, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 50 and S.R. 28.

U.S. 35 will be reduced to one lane from the CR 550 interchange to just east of the S.R. 159 interchange, and from the U.S. 23 split (end of overlap) to the U.S. 50 interchange for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer. (#18-0495)

A slip repair project has begun on FR 10 (Tar Hollow Road) in Tar Hollow State Park. The route will be subject to short-term, intermittent periods of closure when crews are at work. At other times during hours of operation, traffic will be maintained by flaggers. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via local park roads and S.R. 327. (#19-1002)

Construction has begun for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 213 (West Junction Road), immediately west of the Ross-Vinton County line. West Junction Road is already closed, and the route will remain closed through early fall of 2019. Motorists will be detoured C.R. 207 (Vigo Road), U.S. 35, C.R. 271 (Elam Road) and C.R. 27 (Bronx Corners Road). (#18-4023)
