S.R. 217, S.R. 650 Remain Closed
Several Routes Reopen In Lawrence County
Chillicothe (Tuesday, September 11, 2018) — State Route 217 and S.R. 650 in Lawrence County remain closed today, September 11, due to flooding; however, many routes on the state highway system in Lawrence
County have reopened to traffic following their closure yesterday.
S.R. 217 is closed between T.R. 101 (Yellow Creek Road) and T.R. 79 (Ridge-Baptist Church Road), at its intersecting junctions with S.R. 378, and S.R. 650 is closed between its junction with S.R. 522 and C.R. 27 (Little Pine Creek Road). However, the following routes are now open with no restrictions:
- S.R. 141, between T.R. 134 (Eph Osborn Road) and T.R. 204 (Arabia-Greasy Ridge Road), near the junction with
S.R. 775 at Wilgus;
- S.R. 141 from T.R. 197 (Coffee-Tea Road) to C.R. 210 (Forest Ridge-Waterloo Road), between the communities
of Arabia and Waterloo;
- S.R. 218 at the Gallia County line;
- S.R. 378 from its junction with S.R. 243 at Getaway to just north of
C.R. 62 (Drift Creek Road);
- S.R. 775 near the
route’s overlap with S.R. 217 at Scottown.
Motorists are reminded that crossing any closed route is strictly prohibited, and they should continue using additional caution when traveling over any road which remains open but where standing or high water may be present.
