Perry, Licking County groups win Paint the Plow
Sheridan and Licking Valley top this year's contest

 Jacksontown, Ohio - Artistic groups in Perry and Licking counties both now hold a new title: plow painting champions.
Sheridan High School, located in Perry County, won the people’s choice award, which was decided based on social media votes. Sheridan garnered 1,152 votes on Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 5’s Facebook page contest, followed closely by Licking Valley High School. Licking Valley received 952 votes, and in third place, Danville High School totaled 395 votes.
Licking Valley was voted the overall ODOT choice award winner. Employees at ODOT District 5 voted for the best plow design. Sheridan came in second place, and Danville came in third.
The Paint the Plow program is a great way for local schools to show their community pride. It allows high schools and vocational schools within the district’s seven-county region to paint an ODOT snowplow blade with a message of school spirit, Ohio pride, patriotism or safety.
This year, 10 schools across six of the seven counties in District 5 painted a plow blade for the contest.
