Construction Update 

Upcoming ODOT Work This Week

Through the week ending May 26, 2018: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County. LAWRENCE COUNTY

MAY 29-JUNE 1: S.R. 378 will be closed between T.R. 168 (Symmes Creek-Yellow Creek Road) and S.R. 141 for a culvert replacement project. The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday, the 29th, and continue until 4 p.m. Friday, June 1. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 141 and S.R. 217.

JUNE 4-8: S.R. 243 will be closed just south of C.R. 36 (McKinney Creek Road), midway between S.R. 7 and S.R. 378, for a culvert replacement project. The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Monday, June 4, and continue until 4 p.m. Friday, June 8. Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 378, S.R. 217, S.R. 775 and S.R. 7.

MONDAY, JUNE 4: Preliminary operations are under way for a bridge replacement on S.R. 217, and the route is scheduled tentatively to be closed the week of June 4. The project site is located between C.R. 6 (Deering Bald Knob Road) and C.R. 61A (Drift Creek Road), two miles east of S.R. 141. Currently, traffic is being maintained by flaggers when crews are at work; however, when the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via C.R. 54 (Dog Fork Road), S.R. 141 and S.R. 378. Construction is under way for a slide repair project on S.R. 217, between the route’s intersections with S.R. 378. The route is reduced to one, 10-foot lane, and traffic is being maintained with temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#18-0169)

U.S. 52 is reduced to one lane through the village of Hanging Rock, between the C.R. 23 (Ohio Furnace Road) interchange and Rock Avenue, for a resurfacing project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and variable speed limit will be in effect. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer. As part of a districtwide chip-seal project, restrictions will be in effect on S.R. 218, between S.R. 217 and the Gallia County line, and on S.R. 243, between C.R. 17 (Rankins Creek Road) and S.R. 378 for paving operations. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers, temporary signals and/or arrow boards when crews are at work. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.
