Upcoming ODOT Work Through Next Week
Through the week ending May 19, 2018: The following traffic advisory includes road construction
and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or
closures in Scioto County as part of the S.R. 823 (Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway) project.

THRU MAY 24, 2018
- U.S. 23 North will be
reduced to one lane between S.R. 728/348 and C.R. 55 (Fairground Road)
for barrier wall construction. Northbound traffic will be maintained in
one, 14-foot lane.
THRU MAY 2018

S.R. 335 is reduced to one lane between C.R. 31 (Swauger Valley Road) and C.R. 246 (Stout Hollow Road) for bridge construction. Traffic is being maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary signals.
- S.R. 335 will be reduced to one lane between T.R.
234 (Shumway Hollow Road) and C.R. 12 (Bennett Schoolhouse Road) for striping
and conduit installation. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are
at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
- U.S. 23 South will be
reduced to one lane between S.R. 728/348 and C.R. 55 (Fairground Road)
for culvert fill work. Southbound traffic will be maintained in one lane
during daytime working hours, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
northbound traffic should not be affected by this restriction.
- U.S. 52 will be subject
to single-lane restrictions between the S.R. 140 and the C.R.
550/Wheelersburg exits for bridge construction and lighting
installation. The single-lane restrictions will be in effect Saturdays
through Thursdays, with restrictions lifted in both directions on
Fridays. A reduced speed limit is also in effect.

EARLY JUNE 2018
- C.R. 29 (Blue Run Road)
will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions at T.R. 381
(Flowers Ison Road) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained
by flaggers when crew are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5
p.m. daily.
- S.R. 139 will be
subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions between T.R. 1385 (Chandler
Drive) and T.R. 516 (Oliver Road) for bridge construction. Traffic will
be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately
7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU MID-JUNE 2018
- S.R. 140 will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions between C.R. 503 (Ohio River Road) and T.R. 251 (Hastings Hill Road) for bridge construction and finishing work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
- The on-ramp from S.R. 140 to U.S. 52 East will be closed for barrier wall and bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured via S.R. 140, Gallia Street/C.R. 503 (Ohio River Road) and Center Street.

JUNE 2018
- C.R. 31 (Swauger Valley
Road) will be subject to intermittent, single-lane restrictions between
T.R. 234 (Shumway Hollow Road) and South Street in Minford for bridge
construction. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crew are at
work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU
JULY 2018
- North Pershing Avenue
in the city of Portsmouth has been closed for reconstruction and relocation.
Traffic is being detoured via Marne Avenue.
- C.R. 28 (Lucasville-Minford Road) will be reduced to one lane between T.R. 381 (Flowers Ison Road) and T.R. 1570 (Rase’s Mountain Drive) for bridge construction. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers when crews are at work, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
THRU
DECEMBER 2018
- C.R. 246 (Stout Hollow
Road) is closed at its junction with C.R. 243 (Dutch Ridge Road) for
excavation and bridge construction. The closure will be in effect
throughout the duration of the project.
- T.R. 234
(Shumway Hollow Road) is closed for relocation and interchange
construction. The closure will be in effect throughout the duration of
the project.
- Blasting operations are
under way, and although there will be no affect to traffic during operations,
residents in the general project area may experience sound or ground vibrations
from the blasting, which is expected to occur weekdays during the noon hour and
again in late afternoon or early evening. Blasting will continue intermittently
throughout the duration of the project.
