State Route 162 in Copley Township (Monday,
April 16 – until further notice) Beginning
Monday, April 16, SR 162/Copley Rd. from the Medina County line to Cleveland
Massillon Rd. and from just east of Cleveland Massillon Rd. to White Pond Drive
will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is the
beginning of a $1.1 million project to resurface SR 162/Copley Rd. The entire project
is scheduled to be completed by early July, 2018.
Interstate
76 & Main Street in the City of Akron (Monday,
April 9 – until further notice) Beginning Monday, April 9, Coburn St., south of
Voris St. and Russell Ave. east of Coburn St. will be closed through late June for roadway construction. The detour will
be Main St. to Thornton St. to May St. to Russell Ave. (until
further notice) S. Main St. between E. Miller Ave. and Broadway St. is
permanently closed. The detour is E.
Miller Ave. to Main St. (until
further notice) The Main St. entrance ramp to I-76 eastbound is CLOSED
through September 2018 for a bridge replacement. The southbound detour is E.
Thornton St. to Grant St. to I-76. (until further notice) The
following traffic pattern and ramp closures are in place through late August
2018:
- I-76
eastbound and westbound from just east of SR 59/Innerbelt to just east of
I-77/SR 8/Central Interchange is reduced to two lanes in each direction,
with all traffic crossed over onto on the westbound lanes of I-76.

The ramp from Lakeshore Blvd. to I-76
eastbound is CLOSED. The detour will
be Lakeshore to W Thorton St. to Grant St. to E Exchange St. to Spicer St. to
Carroll St. to SR 8.
- The
ramp from I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound is CLOSED. The is
I-76/Kenmore Leg westbound to I-277 eastbound to I-77 southbound.

The ramp from I-77 northbound to
I-76 westbound is CLOSED through
late August 2018 for roadway reconstruction. The detour is I-277
westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound. (until
further notice) The ramp from SR 8 southbound to
I-76 westbound is CLOSED through
late August 2019 for roadway reconstruction. The detour is I-77
southbound to I-277 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound. (until further notice) E. Voris St. between Main St. and
Coburn St. is closed through late
April for roadway construction. The detour is Russell St. to Coburn St. (until
further notice) Thornton St. eastbound and
westbound between Coburn St. and Wolf Ledges Parkway is reduced to one lane in
each direction through late May for roadway construction. (until further notice) Bartges St. eastbound between Main St. and High St. is closed through May
2018. The detours are:

Eastbound Bartges St. – S. Main St. to Cedar St. to High St.

E. Bartges St. between High St. and Broadway St. is closed through May
2018 for roadway construction. The detours are:

Exchange to S. Main to Bartges
(until further
notice)
Main
St. and Broadway St. between Miller Rd. and Bartges St. has various lane
restrictions for roadway construction. This work is part of an $84 million
project to reconstruct I-76/Main St. and Broadway St. interchange in the City
of Akron. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July 2020.
Interstate
76 in the Cities of Norton and Barberton
(Monday,
April 9 – Wednesday, April 11)
Beginning Monday, April
9, I-76 eastbound to SR 261 exit ramp will be closed nightly between 9
p.m. and 5 a.m. through Wednesday, April 11, for pavement repairs. The detour
will be SR 93 to I-76 west.

The ramp from I-76
eastbound to State St. is closed through mid-May for pavement
reconstruction. The detour is I-76 east to SR 619/Wooster Rd. to State St.
(until
further notice)
The
following traffic patterns are in place.
- The
ramp from SR 21 southbound to I-76 eastbound ramp is closed through
early May for roadway construction. The detour is SR 21 south to SR 585 to
SR 21 north.
- The
ramp from I-76 eastbound to SR 21 northbound ramp is closed through
early May for roadway construction. The detour is SR 261 to SR 21.
- The
ramp from Barber Rd. to I-76 eastbound is closed through early July. The detour is Barber Rd. to Norton
Rd. to Wooster Rd. to I-76 eastbound.
- SR
261 under I-76 and SR 21 under I-76 will have various nightly lane
restrictions for roadway construction.
- Motorists
traveling on I-76 eastbound from just west of SR 94 to SR 619/Wooster Rd.
should be aware of a bi-directional traffic pattern. Although two lanes of
traffic are maintained in each direction on I-76, eastbound traffic is
split, with one lane of eastbound traffic crossed over onto I-76
westbound, while the second lane remains on I-76 eastbound. Motorists
wishing to exit at Wooster Rd./SR 619, Barber Rd., State St., Cleveland
Massillon Rd., SR 21 and SR 261 should remain in the right lane.

The
following restrictions and closure are in place through early May 2018, for the
reconstruction of the Cleveland Massillon Rd. bridge over I-76:
- Cleveland
Massillon Rd. over I-76 is reduced to one lane in each direction
- Oser
Rd. at Cleveland Massillon Rd. is closed. The detour is Cleveland
Massillon Rd. to Greenfall Rd. to Easton Rd.

The
I-76 eastbound exit ramp to Cleveland Massillon Rd. is restricted to a right
turn only. The detour for motorists wanting to turn left is Cleveland
Massillon Rd. to Norton Ave. to Barber Rd. SR 261 OR I-76
eastbound to Barber Rd to SR 261.
- I-76
westbound to Cleveland Massillon Rd. is restricted to a right turn
only for trucks. The truck detour is I-76 westbound to SR 21 south
to I-76 eastbound to Cleveland Massillon Rd.

I-76
between the Medina County line and Central Ave. has occasional nightly lane
restrictions for pavement widening.

further notice)
SR
261 under I-76 and SR 21 under I-76 have various lane restrictions during
non-peak travel times for roadway construction and bridge repairs. This work is
part of an $80.4 million project to reconstruct the pavement on I-76 between
the Medina County line and Central Ave. The project also includes the widening
of I-76 between SR 21 and Central Ave. The entire project is scheduled to be
completed by late July 2019.
