Geauga County: SR 168 (Tavern Road) to close near 
SR 700 for bridge maintenance

GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, July 5, 2017) - Crews working on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation on the SR 168 (Tavern Road) resurfacing between Nash Road and Memorial Drive in Parkman, Troy and Burton Townships recently completed work to replace a culvert near Patch Road. This section of SR 168 was reopened on Monday. 

The project will now shift its focus to working on the SR 168 bridge over the East Branch of the Cuyahoga River, north of SR 700 in Burton Township.  On Monday, July 17, crews will close SR 168 between Memorial Drive and SR 700 for approximately 30 days in order to perform maintenance on the bridge approaches.

During the closure motorists will be detoured via SR 87, SR 608 and SR 528.  

Gea Co SR 168 Closure


Following the completion of the bridge work, crews will begin work to resurface SR 168 between Nash Road and north of Memorial Drive in Parkman, Troy and Burton Townships. During that work two-way traffic will be maintained utilizing flaggers. Stay tuned for updates.
