ODOT District 2 Weekly Construction Update

1. Interstate 75: Widening

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.   

                                                      

Through July, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and I-280, is reduced to two lanes for pavement installation.

 

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

  • Through Monday, June 12 at 6am, the ramps to/from northbound I-75 to/from South Expressway Drive (Exit 207) will be closed for paving. Northbound I-75 to South Expressway Drive/Stickney Avenue (Exit 207) detour: Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.  South Expressway Drive/Lagrange Street to northbound I-75 detour: Lagrange Street; Manhattan Boulevard; northbound I-280; I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue. 
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

·         Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

 

Local Streets:

 

Through Monday, June 12 at 6am, South Expressway Drive, between Lagrange Street and Stickney Avenue, will be closed for paving. Detour: Lagrange Street; Manhattan Boulevard; Stickney Avenue.

 

Through June, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

 

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

 

Through June, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

 

Through June, Stickney Avenue, is restricted to a single lane between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

 

Through early August, Berdan Avenue at Jeep Parkway will be closed for roundabout construction.  Detour: Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue; Haverhill Drive.  Additionally at this time, Jeep Parkway north of the Overland smokestack will be closed.  Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

 

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

 

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

 

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

 

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

 

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed. 

 

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting. 


2. Interstate 75: Noise Wall Repair

Lucas County (520-16):  Through August, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between I-280 and the Ohio/Michigan state line, for noise wall repair.  Project complete:  September. All work is weather permitting.

 

3. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair Project
Lucas County (1002-17): Through March 2018, lane restrictions are possible on I-280, between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway, for bridge repair. Ramp restrictions/closures may be announced.

 

Effective Friday, June 9 at 9pm, through Monday, June 12 at 6am, northbound I-280 VGCS, between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway, will be reduced to one lane, for pavement repairs.

 

Project complete: March 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

 

4. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

 

5. Interstate 475: Resurfacing

Lucas County (497-16):  Through July, nightly from 9pm until 7am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Monclova Road and Central Avenue, for resurfacing.  Additional lane and ramp restrictions may be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

6. Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties:  Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

 

7. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15):  Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

 

8. U.S. Route 20: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Lucas County (301-16):  Through June, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue/US 20 and Meijer Drive for finish work.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting. 

 

9. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16):  Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced. Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

 

10. State Route 2: Resurfacing  

Lucas County (8028-16): Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between North Curtice Road and the Lucas/Ottawa county line, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

 

11. State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Lucas County (550-16): Through September, Monroe Street/SR 51 over I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work.  Through June, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Glenwood Avenue, and from eastbound Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue, is maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, Maplewood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue north of Monroe Street, and northbound Lawrence Avenue, between Woodruff Avenue and Monroe Street, are closed.  Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

 

12. State Route 51/Monroe Street: Bridge Redecking *UPDATE*
Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through August, Monroe Street over I-475 will be closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Secor Road; Central Avenue.  Once open, through September, Monroe Street over I-475 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work. 

 

Effective Friday, June 9, through Tuesday, June 13, nightly 7pm to 6am, the ramp from Monroe Street to eastbound I-475 will be closed for bridge deck removal. Detour: Secor Road.

 

 Project complete: June 2018.  All work is weather permitting. 

 

13. State Route 295: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair
Lucas County (622-16): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between South River Road and SR 64 for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

 

14. State Route 295: Chip Sealing

Lucas County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between SR 64 and US 20A, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

 

15. Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking

Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through July, Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Groveland Road; Rushland Avenue. 

 

Through mid-June, the following intersections will be closed for pavement work.

·         Groveland Road at Bowen Road.  Detour: Monroe Street; Woodmont Road.

·         Langenderfer Drive at Bowen Road.  Detour: Pennhurst Road; Grantley Road.

 

Project complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

 

16. Crabb Road: Bridge Rehabilitation

Lucas County (3039-16):  Through July, Crabb Road, between Telegraph Road and Laskey Road, will be closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: Telegraph Road; Laskey Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.
