You are receiving this email because you are eligible for enrollment in the State of Ohio’s Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) program. Enrollment for FSAs ends Friday, Oct. 25. Take action today!

The State of Ohio offers eligible permanent employees the benefits of flexible spending accounts (FSAs), which are voluntary accounts established by the IRS that allow participants to set aside funds to pay for eligible expenses on a pre-tax basis.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT OPTIONS

Health Care FSAs
FSA benefit for any medical plan option, except for a high deductible health plan

  • Pay for medical, pharmacy, behavioral health, dental, and vision expenses not paid by insurance for you, your spouse, and eligible dependents.
  • Beginning Jan. 1, 2025:
    • The maximum contribution is $3,200 per enrolled member (increased from $3,050).
    • Carry over a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $640 (increased from $610) of your remaining year-end Health Care FSA balance to the next plan year.

Limited Purpose FSAs
FSA benefit for high deductible health plan options only (such as the Ohio Med HDHP)

  • Pay for eligible dental and vision expenses not paid by insurance for you, your spouse, and eligible dependents.
  • Through the high deductible health plan and your health savings account, you can maximize your savings.
  • Those currently enrolled in a high deductible health plan can enroll in a Limited Purpose FSA and are not eligible to enroll in a traditional Health Care FSA.
  • IMPORTANT: Those who enroll in a high deductible health plan and elect a Health Care FSA will have the Health Care FSA converted to a Limited Purpose FSA.

Dependent Care FSAs
Pay for eligible dependent care expenses while you are at work, such as:

  • Child or adult day care
  • Before/after-school care
  • Summer day camp

A carryover is not permitted for the Dependent Care FSA. The maximum election amount is $5,000.


HOW TO ENROLL

For FSA program details, download the 2025 FSA Plan Guide, which includes enrollment information, or visit the FSA webpage: DAS.Ohio.gov/FSA.

Enrollment steps:
Step 1: Log in to MyFlexDollars.com, or register as a new user, any time through Oct. 25.
Step 2: Click the Enroll Now button to begin the enrollment process.
Step 3: Click the dark blue Get Started button on the top of the page.
Step 4: Select your benefits and contribution amounts. Click Proceed to review all your benefit options.
Step 5: Verify your selections and click the Submit These Elections button.
Step 6: Enrollment complete! You can print and/or save a copy of your Confirmation Statement.

If you would like to enroll by paper form, you can use the form located at the back page of the FSA Plan Guide or download the Enrollment Form. You can either scan and email or fax the form or send the form in the mail. Forms must be postmarked or sent electronically by Friday, Oct. 25.

The state’s flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, and health savings accounts are managed by Baker Tilly Vantagen, powered by their myFlexDollars platform.
