Kick Off the Winter Season with WinterFest Columbus
COLUMBUS - Are you ready to kick off the winter season in downtown Columbus? Don’t miss one of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department’s popular free festivals, WinterFest Columbus!
Now in its ninth year, WinterFest Columbus is moving to a new date and location at Dorrian Green on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 12-4 p.m. This year, the festival takes place in collaboration with COSI’s Season of Celebrations, which transforms COSI into a spectacular winter wonderland where science, imagination and holiday traditions come together. Learn more about Season of Celebrations.
The festivities kick off with COSI’s tree lighting ceremony at 11 a.m. All visitors can enter COSI’s atrium for free and enjoy vendors, food and seasonal beverages, with access to the rest of COSI on Nov. 21 requiring general admission tickets.
After the tree lighting, head over to Dorrian Green for WinterFest Columbus! This family-friendly event features activities, food and beverages for all ages. Firepits, patio heaters and Adirondack chairs will keep the chilly weather at bay.
“WinterFest Columbus is one of our most unique outdoor festivals, and we’re looking forward to beginning the winter season with this free event,” said Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. "It’s a great way for our community to come together and celebrate what makes Columbus a great place to live, work and play.”
"We’re excited to collaborate with COSI to bring even more fun to the Scioto Mile!” said Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Director Bernita Reese, M.S., CPRP. "This is a great way to close out our festival season, and we look forward to seeing you next year!"
