Did you know Columbus is home to one of the area’s only soapbox derby hills? Since 1967, Derby Hill at Big Run Park, located at 4205 Clime Road, has been the place for racing, riding and even challenging hill workouts.
Recently resurfaced, the nearly 1,000-foot course drops about 50 feet. The Columbus Soap Box Derby group regularly hosts events at the track and says rookies love it. They’ve even partnered with COSI to tie racing into STEM-based learning.
Whether you’re working on your hill running or your need for speed, check out Derby Hill at Big Run Park today! It’s a great way to experience the thrill of “gravity sports” right here in Columbus.
