“Drive to Your Pathway” Uses Cars and Conversation to Inspire Youth and Fuel Career Dreams
COLUMBUS - Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, in partnership with Grades Plus Game, invites media to attend Drive to Your Pathway—a one-of-a-kind career readiness event that connects young people with real stories of success through custom, classic and luxury cars.
Participants in the department’s APPS Job Readiness Program (AJRP) will meet car owners who share not only their rides—but their journeys. Many speakers come from the same neighborhoods as the youth attending, offering relatable role models and tangible proof that with passion, persistence and support, anything is possible.
“Every young person deserves to see themselves successful. This event creates space for that by bringing stories, mentorship and community right to where they are,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, Director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “We’re proud to support this work and help youth see that their path to greatness can start right here and right now.”
More than a car show, Drive to Your Pathway is a mentorship moment on wheels. From dream rides to real talk, this event encourages youth to envision their futures and take the first step toward their own success story.
