Columbus Recreation and Parks is updating the Tree Technical Manual, which serves as the rules and regulations for public trees. Public trees grow on city-owned property like in parks or along streets. These minor revisions improve definitions, clarify when to use tree tags versus Tree IDs, expand protection options and simplify mitigation guidance.
We want your feedback! Review the revised manual and summary of changes, and share your comments online by July 31.

The City’s newest outdoor pickleball courts are now open at Anheuser-Busch Sports Park!
Located at 4990 Olentangy River Road, 43214, this project adds four fenced courts with lighting, shaded pavilions, accessible design and resurfaced parking—shaped by input from the Community Sports Park feasibility study. These are the second dedicated pickleball courts in Columbus, following Warner Woods Park, with more planned at Krumm and McCoy parks.
Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned player, there's now more space to serve, volley and play!

Applications are now open for the 2025-2026 Artist in Residence Program at the Fran Ryan Center. This dynamic residency is designed for artists ages 50 and older who are ready to share their voice, push their creative boundaries and make a lasting impact on the community.
Selected artists will receive a $2,000 project stipend, access to top-tier creative facilities and materials, dedicated studio space and the chance to take up to two free in-house classes or workshops to grow their practice.
