This 10.1-acre neighborhood gem has something for everyone—playgrounds for kids, a smooth paved path for walkers, basketball courts, picnic tables, open air shelter and plenty of green space to explore. Try Something New: Free Demo Day at Fran Ryan Center

Join us for Demo Day at the Fran Ryan Center!

Stop by on Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for a free event where you can experience everything the Fran Ryan Center has to offer. Instructors and staff will be on-site with hands-on activities, and they will be ready to answer your questions.

You can also preview our upcoming Session 4 classes—registration opens July 7! Self-guided tours of the facility will be available throughout the event.

No experience needed—everyone is welcome!

Fire Up the Flavor: Jazz & Rib Fest

Get ready for the hottest weekend in Columbus! Jazz & Rib Fest, presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks, is back with world-class music and mouth-watering BBQ—all for free!

Stop by West Bank Park and Bicentennial Park, along the Scioto Mile, on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday, July 20, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Volunteer This Summer: Lend a Hand, Make a Difference

Looking to get involved and give back? We’ve got volunteer opportunities all summer long—whether you want to protect pollinators, support community festivals or help run sports tournaments, there’s something for everyone.

Upcoming Opportunities:

• Pollinator Documentation Program (May-October): Help document pollinator species using the iNaturalist app. Perfect for nature lovers! Sign Up for Virtual Training or attend in-person training on Aug. 6.
• Mobile Produce Markets (Ongoing): Help pack and distribute produce. 
• Kickball Tournament at Berliner - July 16: Help us bring the fun! Volunteers assist with event setup, registration and general support.
• Conservation at Holton Park - July 19: Pitch in to clean up litter on land and in the waterway. Dress for the mess, and bring your water bottle.
• Dodgeball Tournament at Willis Athletic Complex - July 30: Keep the energy high by supporting this fast-paced event.
• Cap City Festival at Barack Center and Lincoln Pool - Aug. 8: Set up, pass out food and help lead activities at this neighborhood celebration. Boxed lunch provided!
