Now’s the perfect time to stop and smell the roses—literally! From mid-June through mid-September, the Columbus Park of Roses, located at 3923 N. High St., 43214, is in full bloom, and it's a must-visit destination for flower lovers, garden enthusiasts and nature seekers alike.
Located within Whetstone Park, this 13-acre public garden is one of the largest rose gardens in the United States and home to more than 7,500 rose specimens. But the blooms are just the beginning. The park is also an accredited Level 1 Arboretum, featuring more than 138 varieties of trees and shrubs.
Whether you’re coming for a peaceful stroll, botanical inspiration or that perfect photo, the Park of Roses is a beautiful escape in the heart of the city. Feel free to take pictures—but not the roses! Help us keep the roses blooming for all to enjoy.

Columbus Recreation and Parks just opened Flatwood Park—an 88-acre destination in Galloway that’s ready to explore! Located at 6016 Alkire Road, the park features a 7,900-square-foot playground for kids of all ages, a shaded open-air shelter, green spaces, benches and a paved .4-mile looped walking path. You’ll also find 68 newly planted trees, a seasonal ADA-accessible portable restroom and a parking lot.
Outdoor lovers will appreciate the park’s direct access to the 12-mile Camp Chase Trail and three pedestrian connections from Georgesville Road, Tampico Drive and Glennon Drive. Flatwood Park is named for a unique Ohio ecosystem—Till Depression Flatwood—historically found in local wetland areas and still thriving here today.
