Youth Voices Lead the Way in Northeast Indoor Aquatics Center Design
COLUMBUS - Members of the media are invited to attend Kids' Design Day.
What: An interactive event for kids to co-design elements of the new Northeast Indoor Aquatics Center, which will be built on Agler Road between Sunbury Road and N. Cassidy Ave. near Mifflin Middle School. The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is partnering with Columbus City Schools (CCS) and the community to co-design and develop programming for the aquatics center.
Who: Columbus Recreation and Parks, Columbus City Schools, kids attending Columbus Recreation and Parks' Howard Community Center Summer Camp and members of the CCS Swim Team.
Where: Howard Community Center – 2505 N. Cassady Ave., 43219
When: Wednesday, June 18, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. (ice cream provided at 4:15 p.m.)
Why: Columbus Recreation and Parks, in partnership with CCS and the community, is planning a new, state-of-the-art indoor aquatics center to serve the northeast Columbus community. Kids’ Design Day gives local youth a unique opportunity to co-design elements of the pool that reflect their needs and dreams. The Northeast Indoor Aquatics Center is where individuals of all ages will come together—whether to swim, learn, grow or simply belong.
